For Muslims across the world, today marked the end of the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia. This rich, holy tradition is rooted in honoring sacrifice, almsgiving, and equality - all important tenants of the Muslim faith. It was tragic to hear that more than 700 pilgrims perished and hundreds more remain injured after a stampede broke out near Mecca. My deepest thoughts and condolences are with the families of the injured or killed pilgrim worshipers. I hope some solace may be found as Eid al-Adha concludes.
